Parkinson Wellness Recovery (PWR!Moves) Program October Session
Parkinson Wellness Recovery is an evidence-based exercise program integrating whole-body movements that can slow motor deterioration, improve symptoms, and increase the quality of life in those living with Parkinson’s disease.
Virtual: October 4-27, Wednesdays and Fridays, 2:30 – 3:15 pm via Zoom. UNC/Rex Wellness Members $85; Non-members $105.

UNC Health Community Flu Shot Clinics
The UNC Wellness Centers are partnering with the UNC Hospitals Pharmacy to offer convenient on-site seasonal Flu Shots. Participants will need to present the pharmacist with their health insurance card to receive a FREE flu shot. Most insurances are accepted. Flu shots are available for ages 10 and older. High-dose flu vaccines will be available for ages 65 and up. Reserve your dose when you schedule. Vaccine given is the Flulaval quadravalent vaccine from GSK. EngAGING Issues (Audiology Part 2): What You Need to Know About Over The Counter Hearing Aids

Over-the-counter hearing aids were recently approved by the FDA for treating perceived mild to moderate hearing loss in adults. While the addition of OTC devices is an overall positive one for the hearing aid industry, it may add to confusion about where and how to begin a hearing journey. Please join UNC HCC doctor of audiology, Patricia Johnson for a summary of the current state of the hearing aid service delivery model and how OTCs may (or may not) be disrupting it. Free Hearing Screenings at Meadowont
Thursday, October 19, from 2:00-4:00 pm (Back Nutrition Office), and Friday, October 27 from 1:00-3:00 pm (Classroom).
Concerned about your hearing? Take the first step with the UNC Hearing and Communication Center. This free hearing screening is quick pass/fail test to see if hearing loss is present. This screening is intended for community members who do not already have diagnosed hearing loss and do not wear hearing aids. The audiologist will examine ears for ear wax and provide appropriate recommendations. Wax cannot be removed as part of a free hearing screening. Free for members and non-members, but space is limited. Register by stopping by in person or calling the Meadowmont Front Desk at 919-966-5500.
