FREE VIRTUAL WORKSHOP: Finding Balance in Everyday Living Sitting, Standing and Walking

This is a 90-minute virtual workshop with a focus on balance, an educational & experiential practice. As we grow wiser, balance often becomes an increasing concern. We’ll explore balance, what happens as we age, and practice balance through sitting, standing, walking, and a variety of yoga balancing poses. We’ll integrate the balancing postures into the functional movement we all encounter in everyday living.

Saturday, February 26, 10:00 – 11:30 am. Register through your member account. For questions, contact the UNC Wellness Center at Meadowmont front desk at 919-957-5900. Free for UNC/Rex Members, $15 for non-members. Participants will receive the virtual link prior to the class day.

Please have these available at the start of the workshop. If you don’t have props, do your best to gather what you can.

  • yoga mat
  • 1-2 blocks or a footstool
  • chair, coffee table or ottoman – this needs to be stable & supportive so it will not slide and will support your weight
  • blanket, bath towel(s), or small pillow(s)
  • a bolster or pillow(s)
  • a strap, belt or scarf
