At Meadowmont – Wednesday, June 21st, 2017 – “do what you love to support those with Alzheimer’s”
Second annual event to mark the summer solstice and recognize the long days and long journey of those with and caring for Alzheimer’s Disease!! Focus is on building awareness and fundraising for this disease. Free to members and non-members.
-Lecture at 12:30 featuring Dr. Dan Kaufer, UNC Memories Disorders Clinic Director on Brain Health (instead of Caregiver’s Support Group)
-“Shag” Dancing 2:00 pm – Beach music, dancing in Studio B—Dancing is the ultimate activity for brain health! It combines social support, cardiovascular benefits, movement , mental focus. Free and open to all. No experience necessary.
-Dementia Friendly Business Training- 3:30-5 pm – Small group discussion in classroom about dealing with folks with cognitive impairment. This is intended for Wellness Center staff, Meadowmont businesses, other interested parties.
