Registration open for Girls on the Run of the Triangle at UNC Wellness
Sunday July 10, 2016
What is Girls on the Run?
Girls on the Run is a life-changing, character development program for girls in 3rd—5th grades. The program combines training for a 5K running event with lessons intended to enhance self-esteem through positive and useful strategies and relationships. The goal of GOTR is to encourage healthy lifestyle choices by providing a firm foundation for girls as they reach adolescence. In GOTR girls learn to stretch themselves physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally and in the process they are inspired to be joyful, healthy and confident!
A GOTR team consists of 15 girls, led by 3 coaches. Scholarships are available at all locations. Registration costs include all curriculum materials, entry in the end of season 5k, program and event t-shirts, water bottle, & finisher medal. All GOTR coaches are fully trained and First Aid and CPR certified. For more information about GOTR @ UNC Wellness contact Susan Kroll at Susan.Kroll@unchealth.unc.edu or the GOTR office.
