ACL Injury Prevention & Performance for Student Athletes

Come join Dr. Spang of UNC Orthopaedics, UNC Therapy Services and UNC Wellness Center Personal trainers to learn how to assess your child’s movement patterns, then correct and strengthen proper form to avoid knee injuries. Coaches and parents are encouraged to attend. Kids will meet on the turf, while parents and coaches learn the hows and whys from orthopedic specialists, then will join the kids on the field to learn proper drills and form to progress their child’s abilities. Speed, flexibility, and plyometric drills will be demonstrated to improve power and agility while decreasing likelihood of injuries. Participatory class – athletes should dress to do drills. Appropriate for ages 8-16. Sign up required by Friday, May 27.
