What You Probably Didn’t Know Your Trainer Can Do For You

Monday May 11, 2015

The words ‘personal training’ often evoke an image of intense exercise and pushing a client to the limits of their endurance and strength.  While these things are part of what personal training has to offer, they are not the only tools in the Personal Trainer’s tool chest.  The Certified Personal Trainers at UNC Wellness Centers are a skilled group of exercise professionals who each have degrees in Exercise Science and therefore a wide variety of knowledge that spans across many skill sets including but not limited to:

  • Balance work both for sports/recreation and functional ability
  • Osteoporosis prevention and rehabilitation
  • Pre- and post- joint replacement work
  • Exercise for Congestive Heart Failure
  • Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord injuries
  • Gait assessments
  • Golf swing analysis
  • Weight loss and maintenance
  • Post-polio strengthening
  • Neuromuscular/neurodegenerative diseases
  • Autism and other Intellectual Disabilities
  • Plateaus with regards to weight loss, strength building and endurance training

The Personal Trainers at UNC Wellness Centers enjoy any opportunity to assist with all the fitness, wellness and health needs of our members and community.  For information about Personal Training, contact Kathy Deblasio at 919-957-5930 in Cary or 984-974-2561 in Meadowmont.
