Four demographics to the FitRanX testing system

There are four demographics to the FitRanX testing system.  They are as follows:

  • Age Bracket One (7-10) Boys
  • Age Bracket One (7-10) Girls
  • Age Bracket Two (11-15) Boys
  • Age Bracket Two (11-15) Girls

Fitness Testing

In order for a student to progress from one level to another, the can participate in a fitness test that uses specific exercises to determine strength within the exercises’ respective muscle groups. There is also a conditioning portion required for each level’s advancement. Through scientific testing and years of development, these exercises have been proven to allow an individual to demonstrate personal fitness growth in each major muscle group, as well as cardiovascular conditioning.

As a student passes through the FitRanx, they can wear the color of their corresponding fitness level whenever they are in class, at school or out and about.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Lifting Weights Bad for My Child?

The answer is NO. The old saying that ‘lifting weights will stunt your growth’ was proven to be a myth in 2001 by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Children and adolescents can participate in strength training programs provided that they are supervised by a certified fitness professional and the child has the emotional maturity to accept and follow directions. By focusing on your child’s form and coordination with working with free weights and body weight movements, FitRanx for Kids prepares your child to perform at his or her best.

How do I prepare my child for FitRanx Testing?

After a child has mastered certain exercises and conditioning skills through attending classes, the instructor and child will determine if it is appropriate for testing. The instructor will never set a child up for failure, so the decision will be made by both individuals. When the instructor is sure that the student can complete all portions of a FitRanX test, then they will be invited to level up. Testing will be done in an individual setting.

What happens after the test?

The student will be presented with a certification, colored RanX Band and other prizes. This might be done in a group ceremony or individually, depending on the circumstance.

What if my child ‘fails’ the test?

Again, your child will not be set up to fail. However, everyone has ‘off’ days. A ‘fail’ will be treated more like a ‘today wasn’t your day-let’s try again soon.’ This will occur when the student is unable to complete an exercise with good technique due to fatigue. Students will get multiple tries to correct their technique before it will be determined to try again another day.
